Amanda Louise Spencer, 79, of Cottageville, WV, passed away August 26, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born February 9, 1941 in Lenore, WV, the daughter of the late Fred Lee and Bessie Jane (Tomblin) Akers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Louise Spencer; son, Robert Martin Spencer; brother, Larry E. Akers and her sister, Eva R. Back.

Amanda was a homemaker and member of the Mount Alto Church of Christ where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and being involved in other church activities. She also enjoyed tole painting.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Sidney H. Spencer; son, Michael E. Spencer; daughter, Jacqueline Burrows; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Richardson of Lancaster, OH, Leslie Smith (Jackie) of Columbus, OH, Barbara L. Phillips of Lebanon, TN, Minervia Joyce Akers of Cold Water, MI, E. Sue Akers of Lebanon, TN, Juanita Crum of Camden, SC and Freda Atwell of Frazeysburg, OH; brothers, Clyde E. Akers of Green Valley, AZ, Fred L. Akers, Jr. of Rockbridge, OH and several nieces, nephews and many other extended family members.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Minister Jeff Batton officiating. Burial will follow in the Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
