Anne Macel (McKeown) Riggs , 89, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Jackson General Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born May 13, 1931, in Ravenswood, a daughter of the late Hubert McKeown and Albatine (Delong) Umstead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph V. Riggs; son, James W. McKeown, and one sister, Faye Baron.

Anne was a homemaker, and a member of the Liverpool United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and working with flowers. Anne was very sociable and liked visiting with people.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Barker of Ravenswood, Sharon Shumate (Roy) of Ravenswood; son, Roger D. McKeown and his wife, Linda of Canton, OH; brother, Ivan Jennings Umstead; sister, Geraldine McKeown of Akron, OH, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Following the visitation, a procession will leave for a graveside service at the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, with Pastor Butch Pursley officiating.
