Aretha (Gibson) Adkins, 70, of Eskdale, WV, passed away, January 22, 2021 in Saint Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born February 23, 1950 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer and Malinda Sarah (Messer) Gibson. Her brothers, Howard, Delmar, Herman and Elmer; sisters, Arbutus, Nellie, Dolly and Nora; infant sibling and step-son, Kenny also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading her Bible and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Jack D. Adkins; sons, Kenneth C. Bennett, Bristol, VA, Jerry W. Bennett, Gay, WV and Johnny R. Bennett of Elyria, OH; daughters, Anedia K. Spaulding of Cabin Creek and Beverly J Spaulding of Clarksburg; step-daughters, Ramona Freeman and Ruth Nidy; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Herman Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery, Gay, WV. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
