Arthur Allen Winter, 64, of Sandyville, WV, passed away February 9, 2022 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV, following a brief illness.

He was born July 29, 1957, in Ripley, WV, a son of the late Arthur "Doc" Oakland and Juanita Marie (Rowley) Winter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Winter; brother-in-law, Doug Parsons.

He was a 1975 graduate of Ripley High School. He was a retired bus driver with the Jackson County Board of Education with 25 years of service. He was an avid farmer and previously ran his own sawmill. He attended the Mt Hope Church, Sandyville, WV and enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Adam D. Winter of Sandyville, John A. (Kari) Winter of Evans; daughter, Sara Marie Carte of Sandyville; sister, Becky (Joe) Mullins of Sandyville; grandchildren, Zachary, Madelyn, Troy, Jacob and Natalie; great grandchild, River.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Monday, February 14, 2022 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with David Hinzman and Jack Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Church of God Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time-of-service Monday at the funeral home.
