Betty Jean (Southall) Martin, 77, of Evans, WV, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 26, 2026, following an extended illness.

She was born on May 25, 1949, on Grasslick in Jackson County, WV a daughter of the late Floyd Gay Southall and Ann (Robey) Southall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, William Franklin Martin whom she missed dearly since his death in 2009; a granddaughter, Alexis Dawn Martin-Coon, sister Wanda Cummings, and brother Fred Southall.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, nature hikes, and spending time with and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an avid music fan and could often be heard jamming to her favorites while working in the home or yard.

Survivors include her sons, William Brian Martin and his wife Jules of Silverton, WV, Andy Franklin Martin and his wife Tamela of Ripley, WV, Benjamin Wade Martin and his wife Gail of Evans, WV, daughter , Sara Lindeman of Reedy, WV, brother Floyd Southall Jr. of Crosslanes,  WV; sisters, Linda (Howard) Stoffel, of Sandyville, WV, Mary (Eugene) Martin, and Jo (Bill) Milhoan of Leroy, WV. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Monday June 29, 2026, at Casto Funeral Home in Evans, WV with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Church cemetery, Evans, WV. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
