Bill Southall, 89, of Evans, WV, passed away February 28, 2026, in Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, WV.

He was born November 24, 1936 in Portland, OH, a son of the late Lanty Russell and Hazel (Thomas) Southall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob (Mary) Southall and Philip (Donna) Southall; sister, Lois (Bill) Ferrell; brother-in-law, Bob Ward.

He was a retired truck driver from Hartley Oil, Ravenswood, WV, and could run nearly every piece of large machinery to perfection. Bill loved his family and always enjoyed the times they spent at home.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Janet (Whitehouse) Southall; son, Michael (Tammy) Southall of Ripley, WV; daughter Patty (Larry) Rhodes of Ripley, WV; grandchildren, Derek (Kayla) Rhodes, Eric (Lori) Rhodes, Kimberly (Ryan) Hill, Michael (Rebecca) Southall and William Southall; five great grandchildren that he loved and enjoyed; brother, Sam (Jane) Southall of Ravenswood; sister Doris Ward of Findley, OH.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Snyder, Hospice Care, Ravenswood Care Center and Lori Whitehouse Casto for their care and compassion during this time.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. ~ Saturday, March 7, 2026 in E.D. Thomas Cemetery, Aplin Ridge, Jackson County, WV with Pastor Grant Garber officiating.
