Bruce Edward Stewart, 67, of Cottageville, WV, passed away December 16, 2024, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born January 14, 1957, in Mason, WV, a son of the late Billy L. and Mary (DeVault) Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Keys; brothers, David and Dallas Stewart; granddaughter, Taylor Stewart; step-son, Dallas Rainey.
He was a graduate of Wahama High School. He was a United States Army veteran and retired as an Inspector for the City of Columbus, OH.
Survivors include his wife Susan Kathleen (Hoffman) Stewart; daughters, Heidi (Jim) Barkwill and Lyndsey Stewart both of Orient, OH; brothers, Donald Stewart of Cottageville, Doug Stewart of Letart and Dorsel Stewart of Philippi; step-daughter, Lila (Ronald) Bauwens of Gassville, AR, Eulah Cooper of WV; step-sons, Jarlando (Crystal) Ward of Point Pleasant, Vicarrio Ward of Zanesville, OH; three grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and four step-greatgrandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. ~ Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Pastor Randy Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Letart-Evergreen Cemetery, Letart, WV. Military honors will be provided by the Stewart-Johnson VFW Post #9926 Mason, WV and the American Legion Post #140 New Haven, WV. Visitation will be from 12 o'clock noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
