Charles Lee
Hannum
Dec 3, 1950 — Jul 25, 2022
Charles Lee Hannum passed away peacefully in the early hours of July 25th, 2022 with his beloved and loving wife, Shayne Hannum, by his side.
He is also survived by his two sons, Cameron and Joshua Hannum and their spouses, his grandchild, Aurora Hannum, six incredible siblings, Janet Queen, Pamela Francis, William Hannum Jr., Mark Hannum, Roy Hannum, and Tammy Bigley, extended family, and all the hearts, minds, and souls he touched throughout his 71 years.
He knew to love. We will miss the affection of his touch, his encyclopedic mind and the stories he loved to tell, the twinkle in his eyes, and his infectious joy and play.
From his beginnings in a small town in West Virginia, Charles traveled the world with an exceptional international career that spanned over 40 years; his heartbeat, however, was always fueled by the deep green of the farm and forest, and the expansive silence and chatter of the woods stretched over the rhythm of the hills and mountains where he grew up: Jackson County. A leader from birth as the first born of seven, he joins his mother and father, Louise and William Hannum, again leading the way, and will now commune with us in the rolling skies piling on the blue above.
Out of respect for his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
If you had the privilege of knowing Charles you would know he loved to walk. Now he flies.
