Clair Fisher Hunt, 89, of Ripley, WV, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2024, with family by his side.
Fisher was born on May 7, 1935, in Evans, WV, a son of the late Walter and Eulah (Sayre) Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Rob, and Camden Hunt; sisters, Angus Morrison, Bernice Shinn, Nadine Tucker, Garnet and Irene Hunt.
Fisher attended Ripley Baptist Temple and retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 39 years of service. He was a 1954 graduate of Ripley High School and played FFA basketball and baseball. Fisher was the owner/operator of the Hunt Farm in Evans. He enjoyed working on his farms, spending time with family and attending activities involving his grandchildren.
Fisher is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley (Anderson) Hunt; son, Steve Hunt and wife, Meegan of Ripley; daughter, Sherrie Murphy and husband, Bruce of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Brandon and Jonathon Murphy, Jamison and Jaelyn Hunt; special caregiver, Lisa Skeen; special granddog, Sophie and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Entombment will follow at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the funeral home.
