Claude Lonnie "C.J." Slate, III , 27, of Vienna, WV, passed away February 6, 2021, in Elkview of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

He was born July 5, 1993 in Marietta, OH the son of Rita Jo (Gibson) Carmichael of Parkersburg, and the late Claude L. Slate, II.

C.J. was currently employed as security at the T-Lite Lounge in Parkersburg.  He enjoyed music, writing poems and fast street bikes.

In addition to his mother, other survivors include his brothers, Steven Carmichael and Jonah Carmichael both of Elkview and Donald Hall of Athens, OH; sisters, Elizabeth Conley of Cottageville and Sylvia Slate of Vienna and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for C.J. and a service for his father, Claude L. Slate, II, who passed away December 18, 2020 will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Pastor Bradley Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
