David Earl Lacy , 71, of Cottageville, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.

He was born July 9, 1949, in Raleigh County, WV, a son of the late Richard Earl and Alma Ellen (Shorter) Lacy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jones and brother, Richard Lacy.

David retired from Hartley Manufacturing Company in Ravenswood as a welder with over 20 years of service. He was a very kind and generous man who would do anything for anyone. David enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gloria (McKinney) Lacy; son, Brian Lacy of Cottageville; daughter, Stephanie Thaxton and her husband Justin of Charleston and two granddaughters, Kennedy and Lily Thaxton.

Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Burial will follow at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
