Doris Jane Williams , 83, of Thornville, OH, formerly of Jackson County, WV, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Altercare of Thornville.

She was born July 26, 1937, in Sandyville, WV, a daughter of the late Virgil and Goldie (Hamrick) Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jo Ann Harris, Clara J. McClain and Helen Mae Hart.

Doris worked for and retired from the Columbus Public School system as a Secretary. She was a special person who helped many people throughout her life including her family. Doris loved life and enjoyed being with happy people. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her. A favorite memory about Doris (also affectionately known as Dodie), was as a teenager she and a friend swam across the Ohio River from West Virginia and back.

Survivors include her sister, Sandra K. Caudill; nieces and nephews, Kim Garnes of Evans, Mindy Miller of FL, Cindy Bragg of WV, Tommy Mills of FL, Jeff Mattox of TX and a special friend, Charlene Dossett of OH.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV, with Pastor Don Balis officiating.
