Edwin Lee Burge , 77, of Ripley, WV passed away February 22, 2022 at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born March 21, 1944 in Millwood, WV the son of the late George Walter and Erma Geneva (Farra) Burge. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Joan Burge; brother, Carroll "Jake" Burge and his sister, Velma McDade.

Ed was a retired towboat captain and retired from Amherst Madison Coal and Supply. He enjoyed ATV's, music and socializing with the boys in garage.

Survivors include his son, Edwin L. Burge, Jr.; daughter, Marketta Bostic (Dale); brother, John Burge (Betty) grandchildren; Michael Stephens, Rebecca Steele, Whitney Bostic, Nash Burge and Jamie Parsons; great grandchildren, Siarra Stephens, Anthony Stephens, Breiton Bostic and Haleigh Parsons and a great great granddaughter, Lila Stephens.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Millwood United Methodist Church with Paster Vera Archer officiating. Private entombment will be in the Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cottageville, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Millwood United Methodist Church, 314 Lower Log Lick Road, Cottageville, WV 25239
