Edwin Pfost Winter, 79, of Millwood, WV, passed away December 13, 2022, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV, following a brief illness.

He was born January 25, 1943, in Fairplain, WV, a son of the late Raymond and Dollie (Hill) Winter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Durst) Winter; sister, Virginia Winter; brother, Vernon Winter.

He was a 1962 graduate of Ripley High School. He was a United States Army veteran and was the owner/operator of Winter Auction Service and Winter Trucking. He was a member of Cottageville Lodge #54, AF & AM and he enjoyed farming, horses and going to the Amish Country.

Survivors include his life partner, Carolyn Harrison; brother, Carroll Winter of Fairplain and several nieces and one nephew.

Service will be 11 a.m. ~ Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Tim Parsons officiating. Burial, with military rights, will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Given, WV. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
