Eleanor Sue (Moore) Gillespie, 84 , of Ravenswood, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born August 23, 1938, in New Cumberland, WV, a daughter of the late Tom Morain Moore Sr. and Nellie Pearl (Virden) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Gillespie.

Eleanor was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, baby dolls, baking and babysitting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenswood for 50 plus years, where she sang in the choir and helped with bible school.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Sylvester Allen Gillespie; sons, Rev. Kevin Allen (Terri Lynn) Gillespie of Ripley; daughter, Pamela Pearl (Marshall) Cochran of Millwood; brothers, Tommy Moore Jr, John Moore, Ed Moore, Fred Moore; sisters, Deloris Sharpe and Margaret "Peg" Walker; grandchildren, Natasha, Sarah, Colter, Caleb, Ryan and Kyle; great grandchildren, Kali, Kanon, Ella, Eden, Wyatt.

Service will be 11 a.m.~ Thursday, October 13, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 719 Flinn Street Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Michael Ludle and Rev. Kevin Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the church.
