Erick Keith Hudson, 41, of Evans, WV, passed away January 20, 2022 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV, following a sudden illness.

He was born June 18, 1980, a son of the late Roderick Keith Hudson and Beverly Sue (Pitts) Hudson of Evans. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William M. Pitts; paternal grandparents, Thomas R. and Freda L. Hudson; aunt, Constance (Pitts) Painter; uncle, Jonathan Pitts.

He was a graduate of Ripley High School class of 1998 and was a standout athlete in football, baseball and basketball. Erick had a kind and warm heart and was a wonderful friend to all that knew him. He was a former teacher, pipefitter and basketball official. He enjoyed cooking and his pets.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his sister, Trindi Doughty and her husband Dave of Columbia, SC; niece and nephew Kaylee and D.J.; aunts and uncles, John (Vickie) Hudson, Randy (Monica) Hudson, Jim (Leah) Pitts, Joe (Cathy) Pitts, Richard Painter, Debbie (Mike) Bright, Dreama (Greg) Pursley, Debbie Pitts, Karen Pitts; fiancé Kayla Pullins; grandmother, Janice M. Pitts; numerous cousins, friends and neighbors.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Monday, January 24, 2022 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Scott Ranson officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
