Eva Ellen (Atkinson) Mahoney, 88, Cairo, WV, passed away March 31, 2025 in the Willows Center, Parkersburg, WV, following an extended illness.
She was born February 13, 1937 in Cairo, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey L. "Tom" and Carrie Mae (Simmons) Atkinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Junior Mahoney; infant daughter, Barbara Mahoney; brothers, Carl and Robert Atkinson; sisters, Mae Slocum and Mary Batton; nephew, Eugene Batton.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Nutter Farm Community Church, and sang in the church choir.
Survivors include her nieces, Debbie (David) Hill of Evans, WV and Wilma (Mike) Ring of Nutter Farm, WV; nephew, Billy Batton of Wilmington, NC.
Service will be 11 a.m. ~ Friday, April 4, 2025 at Nutter Farm Community Church with Pastor Tom Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Masonic Cemetery, Cairo, WV. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
