Freda (Hewitt) Champ, 77, Ripley, WV, passed away August 5, 2021, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born November 13, 1943 in Malone, NY, a daughter of the late Nelson H. and Bertha M. (LaRose) Hewitt. Her daughter Melodie A. Hamlin and three brothers and two sisters, preceded her in death including her twin Fredie Hewitt.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Donsel Leroy Champ; five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 am ~ Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
