George Henry Holt, 72 , of the Leroy, WV, (Liverpool Community) passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home,  following a brief illness.

He was born August 7, 1949, in Alamance County, North Carolina, a son of the late Burl Henry and Jennie (Coble) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dale Holt; brother, Roger Holt;  sister, Grace.

He was a retired construction worker and enjoyed fishing and tinkering.  Survivors include his beloved companion of 44 years Elva June (Britton) Weekley; son, William Henry Holt of Leroy; stepchildren, Karen and Gary Rhodes of Medina, Diane and Jesse Workman of Ripley, Allan and Brenda Weekley of Ripley and Tammy and Charlie Angus of Leroy; grandchildren Brittany, Maria and Stephanie; ten step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several  step-great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022,  at the Liverpool Cemetery, Leroy, WV, with Brandon Workman officiating.
