Georgiann (Shamblin) Bennett, 82, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away, Sunday March 16, 2025, at the Ravenswood Village, following an extended illness.

She was born February 21, 1943, in Ravenswood, WV, a daughter of the late Holly and Evaline (Cummings) Shamblin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe L. Bennett; sisters Alice Murray, Betty Lawrence, Annabelle Jarrett; brother Holly Shamblin Jr.; half brothers Hoyt and Russell Shamblin.

Georgiann was a Baptist by faith and a member of Ripley Baptist Tabernacle, Ripley, WV. She enjoyed attending Ravenswood High school sporting events and flea markets.

Survivors include her sister, Edna Lyons of Ravenswood, Kate (Wilbur) Holmes of Smith, AL, Sarah Hughes of Cabin John, MD and Lois (Bob) Melvy of Mt. Airy, MD; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
