Gloria Ann (Varney) Blackhurst , 64, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away, Sunday, January 31, 2021, at her mother's home, following an extended illness.

She was born June 9, 1956, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of Dorothy (Shannon) Varney of Ravenswood, and the late Carl Johnson Varney, Sr.

She was a registered nurse and had worked for United Health Care, CAMC, Jackson General Hospital and Constellium during her career. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ravenswood, and enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes.

Survivors include her sons, Craig Blackhurst (Kyla) of Ravenswood and Steven Blackhurst (Lora) of Racine, OH; brother, Carl J. Varney, Jr. of Marietta, OH; sisters, Venisa Flesher (Jeff) and Connie Reynolds (Earl Lee) all of Ravenswood and grandchildren, Abigail Blackhurst and Nina Blackhurst.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Toby Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the First Baptist Church, Ravenswood.
