Helen Faye "Jimmie" (Hemmings) Thompson, 83, of Nitro, WV, formerly of Millwood, WV, passed away December 10, 2021, in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born December 23, 1937, in Olcott, WV, a daughter of the late James Robert Hemmings Jr. and Mildred Virginia (Grady) Hemmings. Her husband, Billy James Thompson also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed Bingo and reading. She attended the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church, Cottageville, WV and most recently the Kingdom Life Fellowship Church, Nitro, WV.

Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Darlene (Earl) Coulter of Huntington, WV and Suzy (Mike) Laughlin of Nitro, WV; grandchildren, Christopher (Tina) Gillespie, Wynter (Mitch) Morgan, Michael (Harley) Laughlin, Brittany Ryder, Phillip (Joni) Laughlin and Joe (Angela) Layton; ten great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; sister, Iona Virginia Woody of California.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. ~ Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Mark Price officiating.
