James Richard "Dick" Foster, 89, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born January 31, 1935, in  Charleston, WV, a son of the late James Austin and Elizabeth (Kanis) Foster.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne Foster and son, James Edward Foster.

James attended the Ravenswood Church of the Nazarene and was a former laborer and member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #5668, Ravenswood, WV. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, making clocks, and going to Holly River State Park.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Foster and James Richard Foster II and his wife Megan; great-grandson, James Ryan Myers.

Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor Mark Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
