James L. Garrett, 77, of Sandyville, WV, passed away May 2, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born Oct 25, 1945, in Ripley, WV, a son of the late Denver Clyde and Evelyn Virginia (Shimp) Garrett.

He was a member of the Sandyville Church of Christ. He was a United States Army combat veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Lynn (Kent) Garrett, children, Bart (Lauren) Garrett, Brad Garrett, and Laura (Colin) Reynolds; grandchildren, Katie Fields, Brittany (Ross) Hughes, Trevor Reynolds, Hunter Reynolds, Carter Garrett, Madelyn Garrett; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Ayden, Layton; sister, Debbie of WV and brother, Roger of NC.

There will be no public services at this time. Viewing and burial will be private.
