James Lee "Jimmy" Durst , 78, of Mount Alto, WV, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Cedar Ridge Center, Sissonville, following an extended illness.

He was born June 4, 1943, in Leon, WV, a son of the late Rev. Kenneth and Daisy (McClure) Durst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Durst Sr. and his wife, Joan, and brother-in-law, Dayton Durst.

Jimmy was a 1961 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. He retired as a Unit Operator from Dupont Washington Works with 35 years of service and was a proud member of the Fire Brigade. Jimmy was a handyman and could fix or build anything. He enjoyed trout fishing, and was an avid football fan.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn "Sue" (Casto) Durst; children, Tammy Bobo and her husband, Nick of Albany, OH, Teresa Waugh of Leon, Tina Fox and her husband, Charlie of Evans, James Durst II of Mount Alto; sisters, Dorthy Click and her husband, Junior of Mount Alto, Lois Taylor and her husband, Gary of Cottageville, Lydia Stone and her husband, Roger of Letart; grandchildren, Nick Bobo (Kristin) of Jackson, OH, Derek Bobo and his wife Kristy of Mount Juliet, TN, Jordan Bobo and his wife, Paige of Albany, OH, Jarrod Waugh and his wife, Angie of Chesapeake, OH, Tiffany Marcum and her husband, Brandon of Gallipolis, OH, Katelyn Fox and Kinsey Fox, both of Evans, and 12 great grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Dennis Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Flatrock. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
