Janet Lucile Donohew , 80, of Point Pleasant, WV, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away February 23, 2021, in Arbors of Gallipolis, OH, following an extended illness.

Janet was born November 26, 1940, in Millwood, WV, a daughter of the late Glenmer O. Donohew and Georgia (Sayre) Donohew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Donohew and a sister-in-law and dear friend, Diana Donohew.

She graduated from Ripley High School in 1958 and later attended classes at the Cleveland Clinic. Following graduation, she joined the Peace Corp and spent two years in Panama and Puerto Rico. After leaving the Peace Corp in 1964, she settled down in Washington, D.C. and worked in the medical profession and enjoyed attending events at the Kennedy Center. In August 2020, she moved to Point Pleasant, WV, to be closer to family.

Survivors include her brother, Ronald (Linda) Donohew of Lesage, WV; sisters, Joyce of Point Pleasant and Patricia of Point Pleasant; two nephews; one niece; five great-nephews and five great nieces.

In keeping with Janet's wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery, Evans, WV.
