Jean Dorsay (Harlow) King, 89, of Ripley, WV, passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Jean was born on July 26th, 1933 in Ripley, WV.

Jean graduated from Ripley high school and then attended Marietta Business College. She returned home to help her parents run their business in Jackson County and married Blaine Lewis King is 1962.

Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jean was preceded in death by her son, James "Jimmy" LeFay, her mother, Lucy Matson (Casto) Harlow, her grandson, Lars Christopher Smith, her husband, Blaine Lewis King, and her father, Don O. Harlow. Jean is survived by her daughters, Rachel Roberts (Frank), Lisa King (Wade Clinton) and Vicki McLaughlin. Grandchildren, Elizabeth McLaughlin Smith, Blaine McLaughlin (Hollis), Meghan Parsons, Rebecca Roberts, Emily McClain (Taylor), Frank Roberts (Beth). Great-Grandchildren, Carter Crihfield, Cameron Crihfield, Dominic McVay, Bailey Smith, Preston Smith, Alana Roberts, Nora Roberts, Audrey Roberts and Harrison Roberts.

Jean loved to love on people and she loved her Heavenly Father. She remained a faithful Christian her entire life. Jean was a caring and lovable woman who, throughout her lifetime devoted herself to her religion and those people around her. She loved to collect anything horse related and was a horse owner over the years and even showed horses. She had a love for schnauzers and owned several in her lifetime.  Jean was a talented painter and piano player. Her hands were rarely still as she was always busy. For many years she and her husband owned many successful businesses. Jean would say, "Do what is right and do what's good. Be kind and help others, love the Lord."

Jean and her husband Blaine operated a successful development company, developing homes in Jackson County. Both enjoyed the country life when later moving to Jean's family farm where they raised cattle and horses. Jean always had a large garden and enjoyed canning and mowing grass. Jean loved Christmas and big holiday celebrations with family.

Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, 1 Peter 4:8, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins." We know that God is pleased to have one of His kind and generous angels back in His arms, where she belongs. She will be sorely missed by those on earth. The family would like to thank Village Care of Point Pleasant (Tori, Joyce, Anita H & Anita B.) and Hospice Care of Charleston (Deb, Tara, Sara and Chris).
