Jesse James Jones Sr., 78, of Gallipolis, OH, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away March 31, 2024, at home, following an extended illness.

He was born July 18, 1945, in Point Pleasant, WV, a son of the late Dewey Sampson and Lucy (Mattox) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Charlie, and Nelson.

Jesse retired from Mason County Action Group as head of Transportation with over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 16 years, Rhonda (Rollins) Jones; son, Jesse Jones Jr. and wife, Roni of St. Albans, WV; step-children, Joshua Rogers of New Haven, Nicole Mitchell and husband, Ryan of New Haven; brother, Bud Mattox of Point Pleasant; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
