Joe Don Whitright, 94, of Ripley, WV, formerly of Palm Bay, Fl, passed away July 30, 2022, in Mountain View Care Center, Ripley, WV, following an extended illness.

He was born December 25, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, MO, a son of the late John Henry and Mable (Baker) Whitright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margie C. (Curtis) Whitright; daughters, Kathryn Jolleen Whitright and Teresa Carol Rardin; brothers, Jack, Gene and Jim Whitright; sister, Edna Emory.

He was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He was a retired mail carrier in Melbourne, Fl. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Palm Bay, Fl, he was also a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Ravenswood, WV. In his later years he attended the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Hartford, WV.

Survivors, include his daughter, Dawna F. (Pastor Randy) Parsons of Letart, WV; son, Gregory J. (Joanne) Whitright of Orlando, FL; brother, Jerry Whitright; grandchildren, Josh and Jenna Parsons, Aaron, and Dallas Whitright; great-grandchildren, Lilly, and Gracie.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. ~ Thursday, August 4, 2022, in Letart-Evergreen Cemetery, Letart, WV, with Pastor Randy Parsons officiating. Military rites will be provided by V.F.W Post # 9926 Mason, WV and American Legion Post # 140 New Haven, WV.
