John Benford Rankin, 67, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away September 24, 2023 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV, following a sudden illness.

He was born April 3, 1956, in Hagerstown, M.D. a son of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Benford) Rankin.

He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He enjoyed music, motorcycles, vehicles, N.A.S.C.A.R. and was an avid Steelers fan.

Survivors include his wife Angela Jane (Daniels) Rankin; daughter, Kayla Renee (Daniel) Anderson of Ravenswood; brothers, George, Kenneth, Bill and Bob Rankin; step-son Coby "Bo" Fields of Charleston, WV; step-daughters, Arin (Clay) Craft of Goldtown and Genni (Jon) Frye of Wheeling; granddaughter, Blakely Renee Anderson, step-grandson, Maverick Craft.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Friday, September 29, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.  Pastor Randy Parsons officiating. Burial with military honors will be provided by the Marine Corps League in Pleasant View Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be from 11am until time-of-service Friday at the funeral home.
