Juanita Jene (Prunty) Bunnell, 74, of Millwood, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her home following a long illness.

She was born May 9, 1948, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late James Elmore and Juanita Faye (Payton) Prunty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Simon; brother, James Prunty Jr.

She was a seamstress for many years and loved sewing. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her computer and caring for her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter Anita Carpenter and Jason of Millwood; grandchildren, J.T. Anderson, Dakota Carpenter, Kelly Nuzum, Katherine Abbott, Kendra Nichols and Katelyn Nuzum; five great-grandchildren ; brother, Frank (Becky) Prunty of Elizabeth, WV; sisters, Elaine Guthrie of Navarre, OH, Donna (Gary) Wright, Angela Hackney, Regina (Paul) Nuzum all of Ravenswood, Shirley (Tommy) Murray of Sandyville and Denise King of Marietta, OH; fur babies, Ricky and Izzy along with several nieces and nephews.

Mom was our guiding light and now she is our guiding star.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date and burial will be private.
