Karen Jean Hartley, 75, of Evans, WV, passed away May 1, 2021, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, Charleston, WV.

She was born December 22, 1945, in Jackson County, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Harpold) Houchen.

Karen, retired after 22 years as a Senior Accountant at N.G.K. Spark Plug, Sissonville, WV. She enjoyed crafting, reading, cooking, going to fish camp and family get togethers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog "Sweetie Pie." Karen, was the secretary of the V.F.W. Post # 5501, Ladies Auxiliary, Ripley, WV.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Everette Dale Hartley; two daughters, Sherry Mallett and A.B. of Sandyville and Terri Johnson and Phillip of Kenna; grandchildren, Zakary and Levi Coleman, Raven Southall, Mesa Altenburger, Madison and Miranda Hudnell; great-grandchildren, Zoey Coleman, Madden Southall and Sterling Abshire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Doyle Parsons and Alvin Casto.

A celebration of life will be 4 P.M. ~ Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley, WV.
