Kelly Jo (Gump) Thompson, 46, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, in Jackson General Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born July 7, 1977, in Ripley, West Virginia, a daughter of Richard T. Gump of Ravenswood and the late Deborah Jean (Compston) Gump.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her uncle, Keith Compston; aunt Sandra Kay Austin.

Kelly was a self-employed process analyst and a member of Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood, WV. She enjoyed camping and her pets.

Survivors in addition to her father include her husband, Matthew Alan Thompson; brother, Jacob (Julia) Gump of Ravenswood; sister, Candi (Alan) Frye of Whitehouse, TN.

Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood, WV with Pastor S.R. Parsons Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time-of-service Saturday, at the church. Private burial will be in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, WV.
