Kenneth R. Comer, 92, of Ravenswood, WV, passed peacefully at the Ravenswood Village on April 30, 2023.

He was born in Charleston, WV, on March 13, 1931, a son of the late Homer C. and Clara (Snodgrass) Comer. Kenneth married Dorothy (Johnson) in 1955, raising his family as a beloved father, grandfather and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was a United States Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked 30 plus years as a Steelworker at Kaiser Aluminum and ran a tax preparation business for over 50 years, serving citizens in the Ravenswood area. He belonged to the Independent United Brethren Church in Ravenswood and enjoyed singing in the choir. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Whitley (Bill) of Charleston, WV, Barbara Spangler (Bill) of Mount Alto, WV, and Marjorie Dean (Don) of Laurinburg, NC.

Survivors include his sons, David and Michael Comer of Ravenswood, granddaughters, Emily and Tiffany Comer of South Charleston, WV.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastors Anton Hager and Matt Matics officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with military honors provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time-of-service Thursday at the funeral home.
