Larry Emmerson Monk, 82 , of Millwood, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, WV, following a brief illness.

He was born August 2, 1940, in Rand, WV, a son of the late Edison Lovel and Nina Arlene (Jones) Monk. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. (Hill) Monk, brother, Eddie Monk, and sisters, Judy Alfred and Linda Hatfield.

Larry was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was a retired carpenter with 34 years of service with Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, WV, and a member of the United Steelworkers union, Local #5668. He enjoyed his dogs, fishing, exercising and carpentry.

Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Pitthan of Ravenswood, WV, and Angela Shamblin of Columbus, OH; brothers, Forest Monk of Hamlin, WV, Charles Monk of Culloden, WV; sisters Sharon Lovely of Culloden, WV, and Glenna Roush of Florida; grandchildren Shayla Casto, Sheldon Shamblin, Summer Lee; great grandchildren Raylan, Zane, Bella Rose, and Gracie Casto, Wrenley and Leland Shamblin, Dustin Lee.

There will be no public services at this time.
