Larry Wayne Smith, 80, of Hickory, NC and Evans, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton, PA, following an extended illness.

He was born December 24, 1942, in Boone County, WV, a son of the late Clyde and Ruby Mae (Jarrell) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Green) Smith; son, Gregory Smith; daughter, Sabrina Foster and five siblings, Edgel Smith, Pat Wilson, Beulah Hamm, Clyde Smith and Bobbie Jane Smith.

Larry was a retired welder for the coal mines in Boone County. He was a minister for the Lord and enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending various racing events, yard sales, and flea markets.

Survivors include his children, Alfred Smith of Hickory, NC, Cathy Smith of Montrose, PA and brother, Walter Smith of Oregon. Additionally, he is survived by Greg Smith, Todd Honaker, Ondrya Shinn, Jessica Irvin, Brandley Smith and eight great grandchildren.

Service will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Pineview Cemetery Mausoleum, 21557 Coal River Rd, Orgas, WV 25148 with Pastor Benjamin Riggleman officiating. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service, at the Mausoleum.
