Leona Ellen Kay , 86, of Ripley, WV passed away April 22, 2022 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born August 15, 1935 in Charleston, WV the daughter of the late Albert Stanton and Hattie Macel (Martin) Parsons. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Luther L. Kay; grandson, Fredrick Scott Wilson; son-in-law, Brent McPherson and four brothers and six sisters.

Leona was a former radio dispatcher for Jackson County and worked at the Cardboard Factory in Ripley. She retired from the housekeeping department at Jackson General Hospital and she enjoyed quilting, gardening, horseback riding and watching her birds. She most recently attended the Centennial Church but had a lifelong love for the Lord.

Survivors include her sons, Rick Kay (Cindy) and Mike Kay (Donna); daughters, Sheila Wilson (Fred), Sharon Kay and Sandra McPherson; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a sister, Joann Sayre.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with the Rev. Aaron Melhorn officiating. Burial will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery, Evans. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
