Lester Clark Click, 96, of Ripley, WV, passed away January 21, 2024, at Ravenswood Care Center following a brief illness.

He was born October 14, 1927, in Millwood, WV, the eldest son of the late Ray Walker and Ruby Dale (Stone) Click. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edith E. (Palmer) Click; son, Charles Sheets; granddaughter, Gail; brothers, Lewis, Paul and Alton Click; sister, Helen Joan Nease; son in law, Joe Burch.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathryn Hymore of Holiday, FL; Carol Burch of Ripley, WV; and son, Joe (Pennie) Click of Jefferson, GA. Grandchildren, Teresa (Steve) Schaefer, David Sheets, Christopher (Jessica) Burch, Taylor and Austin Click. Great-grandchildren; Dakota, Caitlin, and Carly Sheets and Justus Burch; brothers, Dennis (Joan) Click of Groveport, OH and Harold (Barbara) Click of Columbus, OH; nieces nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II. He spent much of his career as a heavy equipment operator in highway construction. He was the owner/operator of a trucking business. Lester, retired from the Jackson County Board of Education as a bus driver. He was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple and the Ripley Lodge #30 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed going to the county fair, attending parades, country music and going out to eat.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Friday, January 26, 2024 at Ripley Baptist Temple with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial with military honors by the Jackson County Honor Guard will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Visitation will also be from noon until time-of-service Friday at the church.
