Linda Sue (Shockey) Bever, 82, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away March 29, 2026 in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born March 6, 1944, in Ravenswood, WV, a daughter of the late William L. and Hazel Florence (Stackpole) Shockey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bever Sr. and her sister, Helen Joan (Shockey) Barber.

She was a homemaker and nanny. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dog Hazel.

Survivors include her son, James E. Bever Jr. and his wife Beverly of Ravenswood; daughter, Janet Martin and her husband Ronnie of Ravenswood; sister, Norma Burgess of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Branden (Courtney) Bever, Amanda Bever, Bryan (Sierra) Bever, Katie (Matt) Gill; Lexi Martin; great-grandchildren, Hayden Heath, Carter Bever, Fern Bever, Walden Bever and Sara Rucker.

A Private family service will be held at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, on April 11, 2026. Flowers and gifts for the family will be received on Friday April 10, 2026 at the Funeral Home.
