Lowell Dewayne Riggs, 83 , of Sandyville, West Virginia, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, in English Meadows, Scott Depot, WV, following an extended illness.

He was born January 1, 1939, in Ripley, WV, a son of the late Carl Earl Riggs and Lillian A. (Wilson) Riggs Atwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald W. Riggs.

He was a retired operator from Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, WV and a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local # 5668, Ravenswood. He enjoyed farming, horses, square dancing and bluegrass music.

Survivors include his daughters, Becky Jo Cooper and her husband Timothy, of Red House, WV, Peggy Sue Riggs of Charleston, S.C. and Bonnie Mae Riggs of Red House, WV; brother, Edward Devon Riggs of Sandyville, WV.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m., on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a graveside service at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV, following the visitation, with Rev. Bernard "Bud" McVey officiating.
