Mary Evelyn (Gibson) Hodge, 79, of Mount Alto, WV, passed away March 17, 2024, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, following a brief illness.

She was born December 8, 1944, in Amma, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Everette Gibson and Lillie Pearl (Burgess) Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hodge; brothers, James and Sanford Gibson; sisters, Wilma and Donna Harris.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, and babysitting. She was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Hodge of Silverton, Gary Hodge of Douglas, AZ, Larry W. Hodge and Glen Hodge of Mount Alto; daughters, Patricia (Scott) Newman of Belpre, OH, Crystal Dawn (Chris) McNemar of Vienna; brothers Duane Gibson, Charles Gibson and Harold Gibson; sister, Tansy Harris; grandchildren, Andy, Tara, Corey, Mikayla and Isaac; great-grandchildren, Peytin, Izabella, Killian, Johnny, Matthew and Braedon.

Service will be 1:30 p.m. with Rev. S.R. Parsons Jr. officiating. ~ March 21, 2024 at Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be from 12 o'clock noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.  A procession will leave shortly after 1 p.m. for services at the cemetery.
