Nora Ellen (Stalnaker) Smith , 94, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Ravenswood Care Center, following an extended illness.

She was born September 15, 1928, in Belgrove, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Ada (Casto) Stalnaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edward Smith; daughter, Rebecca Smith; brothers, William Stalnaker, Corby Stalnaker and three sisters, Aleyne Elliot, Ruth Hall, and Reva Kelly.

Nora had worked as a Secretary for several furniture stores in the Sissonville and Charleston areas. She was a past member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Sissonville where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley and was a past member of the Eastern Star. Nora was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, quilting, and arranging various floral arrangements.

Survivors include her sons, Jay Smith of Navarre, FL, John Smith and his wife, Lisa of Lebanon, OH; sister, June Hill of Beverly, OH; grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith of Elida, OH, Amanda Gemperline of Monroe, OH, Barry Bridgett of Bloomington, IL, and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain, WV, with Pastor Benjamin Riggleman officiating.
