Opal Gay Marks , 88, of Evans, WV passed away July 9, 2022 at the Hubbard Hospice House West following an extended illness. She was born June 3, 1934 in Orma, Calhoun County the daughter of the late Andrew J. "A.J." and Lucy (Price) Sampson.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Russel, Weldon and Warden Sampson and a half-brother, Creed Frame and sisters, Ivah Cottrell, Josephine Westfall and Mattie Roberts.

Opal was a homemaker, a member of the Fairview Church, Given, and loved all her family.

Survivors include her sons, Calvin Marks (Corrina), Marvin Marks (Dottie) and Billy Marks (Ruth Ann); daughters, Karen McKown, Norma Myers (Clyde) and Janet Starcher (Glen); sister, Mary Hall (Ross); 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with the Rev. Roger Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Board Cemetery, Reedy, WV. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to time of service.
