Paul Edwin Shockey, 79, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on October 5, 2026.

He was born September 25, 1947 in Ravenswood, WV, a son of the late Carrol E. and Helen Althea (Smith) Shockey. 

Paul was a proud alumnus of Ravenswood High School, West Virginia University and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was a dairy farmer and practiced veterinary medicine for 52 years. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Patricia Ann (Sibold) Shockey; sister Helen Staats; brother Olin Shockey; children, Erin (Garry) Garrison, Todd Shockey, Joe (Rachel) Shockey, Felicia Shockey; eight grandchildren, Wren Shockey, Will (Molly) Garrison, Riley Shockey, Emma Shockey, Katie Garrison, Regan, Russell and Ryan Shockey.

Visitation for the public will be from 1 p.m. ~ 4 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Private graveside services for the family will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers gifts in Paul's memory may be made to the H.E. "Doc" Kidder Memorial Endowment, supporting animal and nutritional science students at the WVU Davis College of Agriculture & Natural Resources.
