Phyllis Jean (McCallister) Fizer, 82, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 18, 2024, at her home.

She was born March 25, 1942 in Hurricane, WV, a daughter of the late Alma Irene (Keaton) McCallister. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Ray McCallister.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Phyllis was a homemaker who worked various jobs throughout her younger years. She was an avid bowler and belonged to the workers support group for Local 5668 Steelworkers Union. She was fun, loving and had many friends, but most of all she was a Christian woman who did what the Lord called her to do by teaching a young youth group at church and later starting a bus route to pick up kids who wanted to attend church.

Her hobbies over the years included sewing, drawing and always had an open door for friends, family, and her children's friends, and neighborhood kids.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Larry Joe Fizer; three children, Virginia (Ginger) Wolford and husband, Mike, Larry Fizer II and wife, Sherry, Darlenea Buckbee; grandchildren, C.J. (Tiffany) Miller, Nenea (Seth) Pursley, Robbie Miller, Tracy (Mikol) Schoolcraft, Jennifer (Nathan) Harrison, Matthew (Kaitlin) Fizer, Sarah (Josh) Fizer, Katie (Brandon) Pauley; great grandchildren, Brennen Pursley, Joey Miller, Blake Schoolcraft, Bella Schoolcraft, Braelyn Pursley, Rylee Pauley, Kelsey Pauley, Waylon Schoolcraft, Colson Harrison, Elliott Fizer, Walker Schoolcraft, Elizabeth Fizer, and Kashton Bryant.

Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Independent Fellowship Church, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Allen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, at the church.
