Quantia Jane (Hicks) Hannigan, 89, of Evans, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.

She was born February 1, 1934, in Boomer, WV, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Beatrice (Rhodes) Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Jerry Franklin Hannigan; brothers, Larry, Jackie, Bill, Carl and one sister, Inalee.

Better known to many as Jane, she was a 1950 graduate of Gauley Bridge High School, where she enjoyed playing Clarinet in the band and being apart of the Cheerleading squad. She retired from the Kroger Company in 1989 and was a member of the UFCW Local # 400. Jane loved her Lord and was a member of Ripley Baptist Temple for over 50 years. She loved reading her bible, Amish books, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, sewing and making dresses for her granddaughters. Her joy was spending time with the ones she loved, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Hannigan of Evans, Kathy Hannigan of Evans, Pamela Tarr of Burlington, NC; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sue Pettit and her husband, Steve and two special daughters, Judith Quick and Diane Ellis.

Service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastors Rick Perrine and David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston for their tender love and care shown to Jane.
