Richard Royall Sayre, 71, of Leon, WV, passed away July 13, 2021 in Cabell Huntington Hospital of injuries sustained in an accident on his property.

He was born June 27, 1950 in Evans, WV the son of the late Richard and Stella Mae (Click) Sayre. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Sayre and a sister, Susie Matheny.

Richard was a retired equipment operator in the construction industry and was formerly employed by Thaxton Construction, Malleable Steel and Kanawha Stone from 1980 to 2001. He enjoyed fishing, working and was a Protestant.

Survivors include his sons, Richard "Buddy" Sayre (Valerie) of Leon, Scott Sayre of Evans and Isaac Sayre (Chasity) of Point Pleasant; daughters, Jeannie Keefer (Philip) of Leon, Brandi Redman of Kenna and Katie Moles of Charleston; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Marie Withrow (Robert) of Leon. He is also survived by his dogs, Carmella, Bruiser and Shadow.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Baden Community Center, Leon. Arrangements provided by Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.
