Rita Ann (Miller) Chancey , 81, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away July 27, 2026 at her home.

She was born July 21, 1945 in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Harry Nile and Justine Ardell (Pickens) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Harry Daugherty and Richard Chancey and her son, Thomas "Tommy" Daugherty, Jr.

Rita was a retired dietician for Jackson General Hospital with 15 years of service. She was known for her infectious laugh and she enjoyed crafting and gardening flowers. She was an outstanding cook and a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Tina Daugherty (Tony Derenberger) of Evans, WV, Lori Tennant (Marion) of Parkersburg, WV, Stacy Rhodes (Dennis) of Ravenswood, WV; brother, Steve Miller of Vincent, OH; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Friday, July 31, 2026 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the funeral home.
