Robert Ray Wilkinson Sr., 82, of Sandyville, WV, passed away July 24, 2022, at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV, following an extended illness.

He was born March 2, 1940, in Sandyville, a son of the late Foster Freeman and Esta Clarabelle (Riggs) Wilkinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant children, Tresa Lynn, Charles Keith, David Allen Wilkinson; brothers, Larry, and Foster Wilkinson; sisters, Mertie Francis, Loraine Wilkinson, and two grandchildren, Alysia Lynn Wilkinson, and Roseanna Grose.

Robert graduated from Gilmore High School, class of 1958. He retired as a Mechanic from DuPont Washington Works, Parkersburg, with 37 years of service. Robert had a passion for music and loved playing guitar, singing in church and with his family. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time in the garden, hunting, fishing, and bowling.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Deloris (Riley) Wilkinson; son, Robert Wilkinson Jr. (Lisa); daughters, Donna Kestner (Loren), Tina Bennett, Mary Hunter, Brenda Carney-Pfost; grandchildren, Christopher Kestner, Joshua Wilkinson, Christine Wilkinson, James Grose, Brianna Bennett, Michael Henley, Matthew Henley, George Mowery, Cierra Riggs; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Karlie, Elijah, Matty, Ivy Lynn and one on the way.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastors Everette Snyder and Joey Dolpies officiating. Burial will follow in the Drift Run Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
