Roberta E. Cunningham Beckett, 93, left her earthly home to finally receive her heavenly reward. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her two daughters.

She was a native of Ripley, WV, and was born September 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Jesse and Anna (Hudson) Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lauretta Tucker and Lenora Vanfossen; brothers, Hayden Murray, David Murray; half-sisters, Irene Gilkinson and Beulah Rose and half-brother, Russell Murray.

Roberta was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church and also attended Cottageville United Methodist Church. She retired from the Jackson County Courthouse as a switch board operator with 24 years of service.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Cunningham-Anthony of Hopkinsville, KY and Lea Ann Cunningham of Clarksburg, WV; four grandchildren, Megan Barnett of Hopkinsville, KY, Jolea Poe, Dylan Cunningham, Ashton Cunningham all of Clarksburg, WV; five great grandchildren, Blake Sowell, Aly Barrett, Brodie Workman, Brynnlea and Liam Poe all of Clarksburg, WV.

Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at the funeral home.
